The Museum is staffed by Army Reserve personnel and a dedicated band of volunteers who work hard behind the scenes to maintain the collection. The Museum is supported through the Australian Army History Unit in the Department of Defence and by the Military Heritage Foundation of Tasmania, a non-profit organisation that undertake fundraising for the Museum.
Donating Historical Items
Donations of historical items to the Army Museum of Tasmania are made via the Military History Foundation of Tasmania. The Foundation is a non-profit organisation and donations to it are tax deductible. The Foundation assess the materials for curatorial value and assists in a valuation process if the donor wishes to claim a tax deduction.
