How Tassie's coastal defence changed from Colonial times and through the world wars. Brett "Marls" Marley hosts the first of this two part series investigating how our state was protected from external threats by our fortified coast.
Marls is joined by Major Christopher Talbot of the Army Museum of Tasmania
Major Chris Talbot, the manager of the Army Museum of Tasmania, takes ABC's Lucie Cutting for a tour of the museum collection in the lead up to ANZAC Day.
Our new Sword and Bayonet exhibit is now open.
This exhibition represents an amazing cross section of weapons from an era where a sword would have been an essential part of a soldiers fighting equipment or a gift as a mark of respect for exemplary service.
These weapons are the pick of our collection and represent our earliest local commanders and more recent notable Tasmanian soldiers through to our first Premier.
